Regulatory Consultant
- Responsibilities will include securing crown land tenure and ensuring regulatory compliance for various petroleum and natural gas development activities in North East British Columbia. Position also includes project management and liaising with various government agencies and stakeholders.
The ideal candidates will possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritize and work well under pressure while maintaining client satisfaction. Successful candidates will also possess well developed writing skills and be proficient with MS Word, Access and Excel. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the oil and gas industry, agriculture or forestry. A Bachelor’s Degree in forestry, biology or geography, land use planning or a diploma from the LRM program would be beneficial, but we would be willing to train candidates who demonstrate a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Land Administrator
- Responsibilities include the preparation of forms required for private land acquisition and negotiations as well as crown land oil and gas applications, stakeholder notifications, third party requests and application approvals.

Land Agent
- Primary responsibilities will be to consult and/or negotiate with landowners and various stakeholders impacted by the construction of pipelines, roads and leases. You will assist with the coordination of the Oil & Gas Commission’s referral process and develop a good working knowledge of regulatory issues.
Ideally, you will have a minimum of three years relative experience although we may be willing to train the right candidate who has less experience.
Qualifications
- Experience in planning, organizing, and implementing strategies;
- Superior communication skills, organizational and team skills, and strong ethics;
- Sound judgment and good negotiation skills as well as the ability to work independently.

Junior or Intermediate Environmental
Professional or Technologist
- EWD Consulting Corp. has an opening for a full-time Junior or an Intermediate environmental professional or technologist. We are looking for an individual that is highly motivated, enthusiastic, and environmentally responsible.
This position offers the opportunity to work in EWD’s growing environmental practice. The successful candidate will be a member of the Natural Science Group and must be able to conduct fieldwork. The successful candidate will work on a variety of environmental projects that may include biophysical surveys and assessments, impact mitigation planning, environmental monitoring, aquatic fisheries and riparian assessments, habitat compensation planning, as well as report writing/preparation. Candidates hired at the intermediate level will also be expected to help train and mentor junior staff.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a B.Sc. or a 2 year technology diploma in an environmental, biological or natural resource related discipline, along with 1-5 years of experience. Excellent technical writing and communication skills, and the ability to work well as part of a team are essential to this position. Previous experience in environmental consulting or natural resource management and knowledge of current industry related codes of practice and regulations (both provincial and federal) is preferred. Effective and professional communication skills are critical as interaction with clients, subcontractors, and government agencies will be required. A clean driver’s abstract is required. You will also possess exceptional time management skills, be flexible, and adapt well to change.

Environmental Engineer/Scientist

Ideal candidates should have a combination of field and office experience, with a focus on environmental site assessments, remediation, groundwater, surface water and soil sampling. You will manage small to medium sized projects, collect and analyze field data, interpret laboratory analytical reports, write reports, assist with proposals, and work with other professionals on multi-disciplinary teams, as needed. This is an excellent growth opportunity. The position will involve fieldwork in remote locations Northern BC.
Qualifications
A minimum of Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science is required. Excellent technical writing and communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team are essential to this position. Previous experience in environmental consulting and knowledge of current industry related codes of practice and regulations (both territorial and federal) are preferred. Effective and professional communication skills are critical as interaction with clients, subcontractors, and government agencies is a key part of the job. A satisfactory driver's abstract is required. You should also possess exceptional time management skills, be flexible, and adapt well to a busy working environment.
